Back to the new reality, life in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Beer, cheese, and all of that good stuff. For me, it was a lot of time walking the streets close to home, and getting to know my new neighbourhood. Voila.
Third Ward Signage
September 30, 2006
Lots of signs, and lights, poles and traffic in this Third Ward street scene. Maybe one day this photo will become a classic treasured shot that shows what things were like 'way back then.' Hopefully those future historians aren't too confused by the horse and buggy.
Urban Snowboarding
September 30, 2006
One of the big snowboard shops in town put on a snowboarding festival right in the middle of the Third Ward. They brought in snow, but rain and hail kind of spoiled things.
Dog Driving a Moped
September 30, 2006
I've never seen this before, but a dog, or at least a person in a dog costume, was driving this moped on a busy downtown street. I thought it was pretty strange, and it looks like the four people in the foreground thought so too.
Lights and Lines
September 25, 2006
One of my favorite subjects, the Milwaukee Art Museum, poses nicely with all of the lights and lines that you'd ever want to photograph.
Allen-Bradley Clock Tower at Dusk
September 25, 2006
Looking down the river, through the bridges and construction, towards the Allen-Bradley Clock Tower.
Water Street Market
September 25, 2006
The Milwaukee Public Market is on Water Street ... North Water Street that is.
The Pier
September 20, 2006
Looking east over Lake Michigan, the pier at Milwaukee is a great spot to watch people, boats, the water and the skyline.
Holy Hill Through the Trees
September 20, 2006
Looking through the trees toward Wisconsin's famous religous site, Holy Hill.
A Dome (One of Three)
September 20, 2006
I've been there before, but, I enjoyed seeing the domes at Mitchell Park again.
Nice Legs
September 11, 2006
I was surprised to see this long legged creature waiting by my doorstep when I got home. He waited just long enough for me to grab my camera before flying away.
Afternoon Steps
September 07, 2006
Strong vertical lines of the steps and shadows are contrasted by the curved (filled in) cracks in the concrete.
Milwaukee Hopscotch
September 07, 2006
I've never seen it played, but, I've obviously found the playground for some crazy street kids ... look at all of those lines painted on the road!
Scale
September 03, 2006
Small people or a big flag? Scale is everything.
Scottish Patterns and Weaponry
September 03, 2006
Back in Wisconsin, I was happily surprised to see that the Highland Games were coming to town. I saw more kilts and heavy weaponry in one afternoon than I did in nearly two weeks in Scotland.
