April showers are supposed to be part of the deal, but they didn't really happen - at least not in the first twenty or so days. Unfortunately an extremely heavy workload at school kept my camera in storage more often than not. I was able to venture away from the computer a few times though - these are some of the noteable photos from my month of April 2005.
Blooming Wildflower
April 29, 2005
I missed this fragile little beauty on my first pass, barely noticing it on my second. Tulips and dafodils are fine, but I still prefer wildflowers.
Waterfall and a Rock
April 29, 2005
Carrying on a theme from earlier in the month, I've got another shot of water rushing by a very stationary rock.
Afternoon Tea
April 29, 2005
I came across an abandoned house with this tea pot standing, surrounded by destruction and disarray. It didn't seem to fit.
Spring
April 29, 2005
To me, this photo says Spring more than any other.
Splish Splash
April 23, 2005
Splishes and splashes, dimples and ripples fill the frame on a rainy day by the pond.
Drops on a Daffodil
April 23, 2005
Nothing wrong with a little bit of rain by the looks of this daffodil. This April shower is better late than never.
Soaked on Saturday
April 23, 2005
Eager to learn how to drive their motorcycles, these students get soaked during their Saturday afternoon lesson.
Trikejacked
April 22, 2005
Who would have the nerve to strip down a tricycle, steal the wheels and bust the seat? Somebody. That bastard.
Pink Magnolias Reaching for the Sky
April 21, 2005
Partially open magnolia buds reach up and towards the sky. These pink flowers seem to be blooming a few days after their white counterparts. Curious.
A Mink I Think
April 21, 2005
It's a mink ... I think. Whatever it is, I nearly stepped on it as it was feasting on a freshly caught fish on the shore of a small pond. It seemed far more concerned with finishing off the fish than it was with getting away from me.
Colours in the Sky
April 15, 2005
Nothing deep or profound here - just a tree trunk with a colourful sky behind it.
Through the Trees
April 15, 2005
Though spring has officially arrived, the trees haven't begun to grow their leaves yet. Just as well as this colourful sky wouldn't be visible if the leaves were around.
Another Cart in the River
April 13, 2005
Only a few metres downstream from the last one, I found another cart in the river. This one has obviously been there for a while.
Rivercart Fantasy
April 13, 2005
Somebody in the north of Toronto seems to be obsessed with dumping shopping carts into the river. In a short span of the river (less than 2km) I counted and photographed more than a dozen partially submerged shopping carts.
About That Time
April 13, 2005
It's about that time ... the time when airplanes should be flying past a crescent moon. It's about that time.
Spring Runoff
April 09, 2005
The west branch of the Humber River rushes past this stationary rock. I like the pretty colours.
Enough Garbage for Everyone
April 09, 2005
The eastern edge of Humber College is littered with more garbage than I've ever seen in a western city. It is obvious that many of the staff, students and the administration at Humber don't really care about this mess. Soon enough the winds will blow the problem away.
Mother Goose is Swimming
April 26, 2005
I'm not actually sure if this is Mother or Father Goose ... whoever it is, four little yellow goslings are swimming behind it in an orderly row.
