A busy month with lots on the go, as usual. School was briefly interrupted by a successful road trip to Montreal; a nice change of scenery, though the trip was a little too rushed to fully take advantage of the beauty of the city. Back on the fringes of Toronto, several evening walks contributed to a wealth of nature photos. There is even a bug's eye view of a turtle, just in case you ever wondered ...
Dandelions in the Sun
May 29, 2005
Harsh flare, ugly weeds (to some), shot straight into the sun ... a real thing of beauty, at least to my eye.
Over the Blue Pond
May 29, 2005
Blue skies reflecting in this calm pond make the deep blue even deeper.
Profusion of White Petals
May 28, 2005
I just can't get enough spring. I have no idea what kind of blooms these are, but they were plentiful and of the purest white.
Dew on the Green Grass
May 28, 2005
Colourful beads of dew on the grass at the foot of a tree. How pretty.
Evergreen Buds
May 28, 2005
Springtime means bud-time, especially if you're a tree. An unidentified neighbour adds a splash of colour to the background.
Visitors in the Bathroom
May 27, 2005
Maybe it isn't the cleanest bathroom around, but at least it isn't the loneliest now that these two spiders have moved in.
Dirty Turtle Shell
May 26, 2005
I'm not sure where this turtle is coming from, but his shell could use a bit of a cleaning. With its head held high, it at least seems like a proud dirty turtle. And why not?
Evergreen Forest in Black and White
May 22, 2005
Just as the title says, this is just an Evergreen Forest in Black and White.
Forest Regeneration
May 22, 2005
A small seedling begins to grow out of the trunk of a fallen evergreen. The cycle of life continues.
Unfurling Ferns
May 22, 2005
A collection of ferns begin to unfurl on a warm spring afternoon in the shade.
Ripples and Reflections
May 22, 2005
A small bridge over a small body of water just north of Palgrave (Ontario) created this eye-catching scene.
Downtown Up
May 21, 2005
Still feeling like a newcomer to Toronto, I find myself staring up more often than not.
Afternoon Tranquility
May 21, 2005
This well dressed man takes a quiet break on the grounds of Toronto's Osgoode Hall.
Two
May 17, 2005
Call me crazy, but I like this sign of the number two. Or is it the #2?
Red Light Confusion
May 11, 2005
This female tourist seemed a little bit dazed and confused by the red neon glow of Montreal's Super Sexe strip club sign. Then again, who wouldn't be?
Chinatown in Montreal
May 11, 2005
I felt that this scene very succinctly answered the question, "Where are you right now?".
Tulip Time
May 11, 2005
Just another photo of a flower in spring. A red tulip this time around.
Canadian Maple
May 10, 2005
Canadians seem to be big fans of some red, white and blue ... especially when the blue is the colour of the sky.
Lights Out
May 08, 2005
An unexpected power outage late on a Sunday night forced me to finish off the night by candlelight.
Danger - Possible Cave-In
May 05, 2005
Is this mountain biker simply disregarding the sign and riding dangerously? Or, is it a slightly misleading photo. You make the call.
Water on the go
May 03, 2005
Water is trickling down these tiny rapids just after sunset.
